Ingredients
160g/5.5oz Plain flour
2 Tablespoons Cadbury Drinking Chocolate (you can use any cocoa or hot chocolate powder but this one is my favourite!)
100g/4oz Butter
50g/2oz Caster sugar
2 Tablespoons Milk
Writing icing of your choice to decorate (white or silver is best if you're doing a cobweb design)
Method
- Sieve the flour and chocolate powder into a large bowl
- Cut the butter into small chunks and add it, then rub it in until the mixture looks like fine breadcrumbs
- Stir in the sugar and then the milk until the mixture starts to stick together
- Use your hands to make a ball of dough
- Wrap the dough in cling film and put it in the fridge for 20 minutes
- Preheat the oven to gas mark 4/180ºC/350ºF and line two baking trays with baking parchment while you wait
- Use a rolling pin to roll out the dough until it's about 5mm thick (remember to sprinkle flour on your rolling pin and work surface first!)
- Use a round cookie cutter (or a glass if you don't have one) to cut the dough into circles
- When you have used up all the dough, lift the circles onto the trays you prepared earlier
- Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes
- When the cookies are cooked all the way through, lift them onto a wire tray to cool down
- After 5 or 10 minutes, decorate them however you like!
