ASOS Picks October 2015

Hey guys, sorry this post is nearly a whole week late...  I've been trying to post something every Sunday but I think I'm going to start posting every Tuesday or Wednesday now instead because it doesn't really suit my schedule anymore to upload posts on Sundays.

Anyway, this post is something a little bit different.  I've seen other bloggers do posts like this and I really enjoy them so I hope you do too!
I've just compiled a list of all my favourite things that are available on ASOS at the moment.  (If you see anything you like just click the photo and you will be linked directly to that item).
I've split the post into clothes, shoes, and random bits and pieces.

September Favourites

September is one of my favourite months of the year.  The weather starts to get a bit cooler so you can layer up a bit more (and wear A/W clothes which are always my favourite) but it's not horribly cold yet.  Autumn is just such a lovely, cosy time of year and September is when it really starts to feel like Autumn.  I don't think I've met anyone who doesn't love Autumn!

The majority of my favourites this month are homeware items, and I'll only be writing about one beauty product so apologies if you prefer reading about makeup!

Rimmel Fix & Perfect Primer Review

Another review this week!  I had actually planned a different post for this week so I'm writing this one at the last minute.

Rimmel Fix & Protect Primer Review

The only primer I've ever used is The Porefessional from Benefit which is amazing.  It is quite expensive though and I try to save it for special occasions so I wanted to find a cheaper primer that I could use on an everyday basis.  Rimmel have three different primers available as far as I know.  The Fix & Perfect Primer claims to do the most so that's the one I went for.

Kiko Intensely Lavish Lipstick Review and Swatches (Shade 04 Mild Sangria)

Kiko Intensely Lavish Lipstick Review and Swatches (Shade 04 Mild Sangria)

Back when I was in Transition Year I went on a trip to Italy with my school.  It was then that I discovered Kiko cosmetics.  I bought a few products from them back then and I loved every single one of them.  I think you can order from them online but I never bothered, but I did always want to try more of their makeup.  Needless to say, when I booked my holiday to Rome this year I knew that I would be making a trip to Kiko while I was there.

August Favourites

Wow, I don't think I've written a monthly favourites post since May!  I've tried a few new products over the summer but in June and July I didn't really feel like I had enough favourites to write a post about them.  Anyway, on to my August Favourites!

Boots Botanics All Bright Radiance Balm

Boots Botanics All Bright Radiance Balm

This Radiance Balm is perfect for wearing under your makeup to give your skin a gorgeous, natural glow.  I use it after moisturising and before I apply my foundation or BB cream.  It can also be worn without makeup to brighten up your skin.  I think this will be a great product to have during winter for those days when your skin is looking a little dull.  The Boots Botanics All Bright Radiance Balm is currently half price in Boots so if you want to try it out now is the perfect time!

Mini Holiday Haul!

I'm heading off to Rome for a few days at the end of the month, so the other day I went into town to pick up the last few bits I needed before going away.  I know the summer is nearly over but I thought I'd show you guys what I bought anyway, in case some of you are going away in the next few weeks or in Autumn.

Nivea Protect and Bronze Suncream

I don't tan.  Ever.  I bought the Nivea Protect and Bronze Tan Activating Protecting Oil in the hopes that it might help me go just a shade darker...  But I don't have high hopes as that would be a bible-worthy miracle.  It's factor 30 and has a UVA rating of 4 stars so more importantly, it should protect my Irish skin from the sun.  I also picked up the Nivea Protect and Bronze Face Cream in factor 50.  It feels nice and light and non-greasy so hopefully it won't cause my skin to breakout.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara Review

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara Review

There seems to have been a lot of hype about Maybelline's Lash Sensational mascara for a good while now.  It's a product that never really struck my interest as I'm a die-hard fan of Benefit's mascaras, especially their They're Real mascara.  I do like to have a cheaper mascara that I can just throw into my makeup bag as well though.  I was using a Soap and Glory mascara for while and I've recently run out of it.  I didn't plan on repurchasing that mascara as it could only be described as "average", so I gave into my curiosity and bought Maybelline's Lash Sensational mascara.

Penneys Festival Haul!

On Friday I went to Longitude festival (which was amazing by the way).  I originally planned on doing an OOTD post about what I wore but just like every other time I've ever planned to write an OOTD post, I forgot to take proper photos of my outfit...  Some day I'll remember!  So instead I thought I would write about some of the bits and pieces I picked up to wear to Longitude, the majority of which I got in Penneys (of course!).  So I suppose this post is a mini, festival themed Penneys/Primark haul!

Cupcake Recipe!

First of all, sorry there hasn't been a new post in so long!  I was really busy coming up to my college graduation show but I have officially graduated from The College of Dance so hopefully things will return to normal and there will be at least one new post a week again.
Anyway, onto the post!

This is a super simple recipe that makes about 12 cupcakes.

Current Beauty Wishlist

I've been lusting after a few beauty products for a while now but as I'm a student (a word that's pretty much synonymous with "broke") I haven't managed to get my hands on them yet.  I enjoy reading other bloggers' wishlist posts so I thought I would write my own.

1. Benefit Roller Lash Mascara

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara

I've heard great things about this mascara and I love Benefit's other mascaras but I can't justify handing out €26 for a new mascara when I still have enough of Benefit's They're Real to last me for a good while.  When I run out I'll have the perfect excuse to give Roller Lash a try.

May Favourites

Lush Daddy-O Shampoo (€7.95-€22.95/£5.50-£17.95)

Lush Daddy O Purple Shampoo

I got my highlights done for the first time in about a year this month.  My hair seemed quite yellow and brassy afterwards.  This purple shampoo saved it!  The dark purple colour cancels out the yellow/orangey tones.  It's perfect for blonde hair but can be used on any hair colour if you're looking for a cooler tone.  I would recommend buying the 100g or 250g bottle of this as it should only be used about once a week.

Get To Know Me!

So this week's post is a little different as you may have guessed from the title.  My "About Me" section isn't very informative, mainly because I hate writing those things!  I thought a good way for you guys to get to know me a little better would be to do a "Get To Know Me" tag.

Question 1: How Tall Are You?

I'm only about 5 feet and 1.5 inches, or 156cm.

Skin Care Routine (Combination Skin)

Combination Skincare Routine

So today I thought I'd write a blog post about my current skincare routine.  While I don't and probably never will have perfect skin, the skincare routine I'm using at the moment has definitely improved my skin.  I have combination skin so I'm prone to both dry and oily patches.  Before I started this particular skincare routine I seemed to have two or three spots at any given time but now I only occasionally get spots.

Sleek Face Form Contouring and Blush Palette Review

Last week I picked up this Face Form Contouring and Blush palette by Sleek in the shade Fair.  It is available in four shades - Fair, Light, Medium and Dark.  The Fair and Light palettes have a contouring powder, highlighter and rose gold blusher.  The Dark and Medium palettes contain a contouring powder, highlighter and bronzer.

April Favourites

April Favourites

Miss Dior Eau de Parfum by Dior, €63.50 - €124.50

I got this perfume for my 20th birthday back in January so it's technically not an April favourite since it's been one of my favourite products for the past 4 months!  But since this is my first ever monthly favourites post I thought it deserved a mention.  This is probably the most 'grown up' fragrance I own and I love it.  I instantly feel more glamorous after spraying some of this on and I've definitely been neglecting the rest of my perfume collection since getting Miss Dior.

My Top 5 All Time Favourite Makeup Products

This post is going to be a list of my all time favourite makeup products, ones that I will always repurchase and use for the foreseeable future.

5. 'The Porefessional' by Benefit, €34

The only primer I ever use.  It minimises the appearance of pores, provides a smooth, even base for your foundation and helps your makeup stay on all day.  It's quite expensive but it lasts ages and is definitely worth it in my opinion.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge Review

I never used makeup sponges before finding this one - I always stuck to brushes.  The Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge is available in Boots for €7.99.  It is apparently a dupe for the Beauty Blender but I can't compare the two as I have never been willing to fork out €20 for a makeup sponge...  By comparison, this Real Techniques sponge is great value.

MAC Miley Cyrus Viva Glam Lipstick Review

MAC Miley Cyrus Viva Glam Lipstick Review

Back in October it was announced that Miley Cyrus would be the new face of MAC's Viva Glam campaign for 2015.  The Miley Cyrus Viva Glam lipstick and Lipglass were released in America in January and everywhere else in February.  I finally got my hands on the lipstick and although it might be a bit late I'm so in love with it I decided to do a quick little review.
