May Favourites

Lolocola May Favourites

Lush Daddy-O Shampoo (€7.95-€22.95/£5.50-£17.95)

Lush Daddy O Purple Shampoo

I got my highlights done for the first time in about a year this month.  My hair seemed quite yellow and brassy afterwards.  This purple shampoo saved it!  The dark purple colour cancels out the yellow/orangey tones.  It's perfect for blonde hair but can be used on any hair colour if you're looking for a cooler tone.  I would recommend buying the 100g or 250g bottle of this as it should only be used about once a week.

Simple Clear Skin Oil Balancing Moisturiser (€5.99/£4.27)

Simple Clear Skin Oil Balancing Moisturiser

I started using this moisturiser early this month and featured it in last week's blog post about my skincare routine.  It has quickly become my new favourite moisturiser.  It mattifies the skin, making it the perfect base for makeup.  It's the only moisturiser I've tried that moisturises the skin without leaving it shiny or oily.  The Simple Clear Skin Oil Balancing Moisturiser is perfect for oily or combination skin.

W7 In The Mood Natural Nudes Eyeshadow Palette (€4-€5.90)

W7 In The Mood Natural Nudes Eyeshadow Palette

I've been loving this budget eyeshadow palette this month for everyday looks.  It fits in my makeup bag and it's great value for money. Read my full review of the W7 In The Mood palette here.

Essence The Gel Nail Polish (€1.79)

Essence The Gel Nail Polish

High shine, longlasting, wide range of colours available and only €1.79 a bottle?  I think I've found my new favourite nail polish!  The Essence The Gel Nail Polish range is available in Penneys.  I've also been using Essence's Sealing Top Coat (€2.49).  I was seriously impressed with how long this nail polish lasts - I'll definitely be picking up more colours soon.

The Enfield Haunting

Sky Living The Enfield Haunting

A non-beauty favourite of mine this month was Sky Living's The Enfield Haunting.  I'm a big fan of horror movies/tv shows and ghost stories.  The Enfield Haunting is a mini series based on supposedly true events that took place in Brimsdown, Enfield, England between 1977 and 1979.  I didn't have high hopes for this mini series to be honest, but it really surpassed my expectations.  If you're interested in horror/the supernatural and you haven't watched this yet I would definitely recommend it.

Marriage Equality!

Marriage Equality Ireland 2015

And last but certainly not least, another non-beauty favourite - Marriage Equality!  This month, as I'm sure you've all heard by now, Ireland held a referendum to change our marriage laws to allow same-sex couples to marry.  Tens of thousands of young people registered to vote in the referendum and thousands of Irish emigrants returned home from all around the world to vote.  On 23 May 2015, Ireland became the first ever country to legalise same-sex marriage by popular vote.
